Hong Kong

A great find and a great eat. There is a Hong Kong cafe 'Tim Ho Wan' that is a Michelin star Dim Sum that has been set up to cater for the locals and those who know.

A friend of mine had heard about it. We had heard it didn’t take bookings and we had to get there early so off we headed one morning arriving a little before 8.30am. We were not the first in the queue as a couple from Aussie had landed from an overnight flight and caught a taxi straight to the restaurant…(if you could loosely call it a restaurant as it more resembles a hole in the wall).

Waiting in a humid strange part of the world in Hong Kong was well worth it. By the time Tim Ho Wan opened there were about 100 Chinese people waiting in a meandering line for a place in the 20 seater. Be warned no one speaks English and you have to pre order...a petite Chinese lady comes along with a form in Chinese with no translation….just tick everything and enjoy…no point wondering what were eating as every mouthful is an explosion of flavours.

Ask any taxi driver it is well known. They have just opened in Singapore and I heard the queue is longer and around the corner but the wait is still worth it for the dumplings at least.
